Sutter Says:
That he was a Navy officer, a Lieutenant Commander.
"...LCDR..." (the correct abbreviation)
(source)
"Rev. Jim Sutter
LDCR, USN (ret.)
Cleveland, Ohio, USA" (incorrect abbreviation)(source)
The Truth:
The Navy has no record of a Lieutenant Commander James Michael Sutter.
Sutter was convicted on felony
charges in 1981. According to court records, the charges were forgery, uttering
(a counterfeiting-related charge), receiving stolen property and grand theft.
The Navy does not hire convicted felons as officers, even though Sutter is
claiming to be an O4.
As noted above, Sutter also does not seem to know how to abbreviate the Navy
title that he claims. In 2003, he signed his correspondence as Rev. Jim Sutter
LDCR, USNR, (ret.) Cleveland, OH.
According to the Navy, Sutter was not an officer and never rose above the lowest enlisted rank.
